About the Artist:

My family’s roots lay in the American South—in Kentucky and Tennessee—but I grew up playing in the cornfields of middle Ohio. Raised somewhat isolated, my imagination was in constant use. I often invented friends in the form of animals or tiny people, crafting worlds for them to inhabit. For the past three decades, beautiful Northern California has been my home. I live near the state’s capital, Sacramento, with my husband and our two dogs—Morty and Otis.
